Description | This course introduces to students the fundamental principles of electrical engineering. The students learn about passive electronic components, their symbols, and applications in AC/DC circuits. They study AC/DC circuit theorems and laws to compute the circuit parameters. They learn about AC signals, their generation, their representation on a complex plane and applications. They get working knowledge in the lab on DC power supplies, multimeters, capacitance meters, cathode ray oscilloscopes, and function generators. They also learn to use hand tools for assembling circuits on the bread board. They would learn to use different simulation software to examine the results of the lab experiments. The students learn the course material through lectures, videos, and online/classroom activities. This course serves as a prerequisite for other electronics courses in their program. |
